New Constellations and Vox Rea took on Milwaukee's historic Rave venue at another historic time in our city. Off of their first-ever World Series win, the Milwaukee Brewers brought a rejuvenating buzz of excitement to the city and all who live here. In my opinion, there’s no better way to celebrate our city than going out and enjoying all our city has to offer, including live music.
Vox Rea took the stage first and brought the enchanting indie- synth- pop music we all love. The sister duo from Vancouver, Canada played dreamy songs about death, heartbreak, mommy issues, and other relatable topics that easily drew listeners in. Aside from the toe-taping tunes, Vox Rea charmed the audience with their witty banter and acknowledgment of the historic sports accomplishments that have happened in our city. This was their first ever time in Milwaukee, and the dance-worthy music made me hope that this certainly won’t be their last.
New Constellations took the stage for their set with an roar of applause from the crowd. Vox Rea backed them up as their band, and the set took off with a bang of high energy and dancing. The last time they were in Milwaukee was for Summerfest, and they’re thrilled to be back in Milwaukee, especially right after the Brewers won the World Series. While Milwaukee is full of excitement, so is New Constellations, as this tour is following the release of their first full-length album. They played a variety of songs, including “Waterslides”, “Think It Over”, “Secret Safe”, and “Hot Blooded”. I loved the sound of New Constellations, their upbeat synth-pop music, and their powerhouse lead vocalist. I found the overall vibe of New Constellations to be uplifting, hopeful, and fun, and I would recommend their music to anyone. New Constellations have a little tour left, and if they’re coming to a city near you, be sure to catch them live.
