On October 2nd, Mt. Joy brought their 10-year anniversary tour to Milwaukee and spread the joy by having proceeds from tickets go to local charities. Fans crowded into Landmark Credit Union Live, ready for a night full of great music and nostalgia. Backed by exciting full-screen visuals and immersive lighting, Mt. Joy started the set with their 2022 single “Orange Blood”. The audience screamed back every word and fueled the band's energy for the rest of the show.
Mt. Joy played an amazing two-hour set filled with fan favorites like “Lemon Tree”, “Strangers”, “Silver Lining”, and “Astrovan”. I was enthralled by the instrumentals and how their musicality was enough to keep fans engaged and excited for the entirety of the set. They also played a deliciously soulful cover of Frank Ocean’s “Pink + White”. Mt. Joy made a point of saying how much they loved Wisconsin, and with the energy maintained by the crowd, it’s clear that Wisconsin loves Mt. Joy back. It was a memorable night of great music and memories, all thanks to this iconic indie band that has been the soundtrack to many lives over the past decade.
