Greg Freeman :: Jawdropped

The Echo, Los Angeles CA

Shot & Review by Alaina Romero

On a stage full of musicians putting their hearts into their instruments, you'll find Greg Freeman and his five piece band blowing the audience away.  Such was the case Friday night at The Echo in Los Angeles.  The band combined the delicate efforts of violin, guitar, percussion, bass, saxophone, and pedal steel, to name a few, and provided an undeniably harmonious experience.  They bridged the gap between picture-painting lyrics with instrumental interludes.  Fan favorites like β€œLong Distance Driver” and β€œColorado” were sincerely delivered from the heart.  β€œHappy to be in Los Angeles…" Greg remarked before saxophonist Cam Gilmour carried us into β€œRome, New York” from his recently released album Burnover.  Freeman and his band have been touring North America and spreading the melancholy-tinted love.  And as the audience, we are happy to have them in return!
